Supervisor, Planning and Procurement

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The Supervisor of Planning and Procurement is responsible for supervising production planning and purchasing personnel and activities supporting the PA site. The supervisor will work strategically with Corporate Planning and other production sites to ensure planning alignment that meets the needs of internal and external customers. The supervisor will support the tactical procurement needs of the PA site and interface with Sourcing & Procurement to identify and achieve cost savings. The supervisor will serve as a backup to perform planning and purchasing activities as needed.
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensures development and communication of dynamic production plan. Considers impact and options to entire supply chain.
- Ensures uninterrupted supply of production support materials
- Coordinate printed materials to support PA production
- Evaluates and proposes appropriate order and inventory policies in SAP to achieve supply chain goals.
- Collaborates with external partners to ensure continuity of supply chain.
- Ensures adequate supply of all materials required to support manufacturing campaigns.
- Works directly with corporate Sourcing and Legal Affairs to establish contracts
- Monitors critical requisitions/purchase orders through approval process
- Collaborates with the PA site and Sourcing & Procurement to identify and achieve cost savings initiatives
- Ensures all Sourcing activities are in compliance with company Procurement and Sourcing policies and practices, FDA, SEC and other regulatory agency standards.
- Ensures process orders and purchase orders are maintained and closed on a timely basis
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for internal and external audits
- Drives and maintains department metrics
- Creates SAP reports, strives to increase utilization of SAP
- Mastery of relevant SAP transactions and modules and provides training as necessary
- Lead projects and facilitate meetings supporting planning and procurement
- Author SOPs, conduct nonconformance investigations, and complete change controls
- Create objectives, provide performance evaluations, and develop personnel
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in Production Planning and/or Procurement in a GMP regulated industry.
- Pharmaceutical / biotech industry preferred
- Significant SAP knowledge/experience in Production Planning and Procurement. In depth knowledge of relevant SAP transactions and modules and can provide training.
- Strong skills in MS Excel and Word
Technical Knowledge:
- SAP, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, cGMP
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related supply chain field, or a science or technical undergraduate degree required.
