Inventory Managment Workshop Series

starting October 2012

This courseware provides participants with a comprehensive overview of inventory control. Each of these modules can be presented/facilitated in a four-hour period and is ideal for company seminars and workshops with continuous improvement as a goal.

  1. Basics of Inventory Management

    This workshop provides a broad overview of basic concepts and good inventory management strategies.

    In this workshop participants will learn how to implement or improve a cycle counting program and the real purpose of cycle counting .......... finding and fixing the causes of errors.

  3. Distribution Inventory Management

    This workshop focuses on the distribution network model and its objectives, activities, and distribution inventory management decisions and includes interactive exercises to present the fundamental concepts associated with the distribution environment.

  4. Material Requirements Planning and Bills of Material

    This workshop examines how to effectively use a materials requirements planning (MRP) system. Participants will develop an understanding of how bills of material are structured and how MRP calculates requirements.

    • Build bills of material that accurately define a product
    • Describe the use of planning bills such as common parts bills and modular bills
    • Perform an MRP explosion

    This workshop will discuss what works and what doesn't to create the best physical inventories, which steps to perform in advance, and how to keep physical inventory under control.
