Gene O'Gara, CPIM

Gene O’Gara is a Materials Supervisor with the Milton Roy Company, a division of United Technologies Corporation, in Ivyland, PA. He has over 25 years experience in manufacturing. His roots are in the machine shop where he started out as a machinist. Later, while attending college at night, he moved into the production control department as a Planner. Since then, he has held various positions in materials management as Master Scheduler and Production Control Manager. Although now in purchasing, he still has an affinity for the shop floor.

Gene is a graduate of La Salle University and holds a Bachelors of Science in Operations Management. He joined APICS in 1986. He earned the designation Certified in Production and Inventory Management in May 1990 and attended both the Train-the-Trainer and Learning Dynamics for Instructors workshops. He has taught certification courses since 1992 at Penn State Abington, Delaware Valley College, and Montgomery County Community College. He is an instructor for the PAN-APICS Chapter's Execution and Control of Operations module. Gene is firm believer in life long education and is currently enrolled in the MBA program at Holy Family University.
